Charlie McAvoy remains injured, won't join Bruins road trip
Charlie McAvoy, a key player for the Boston Bruins, has been out of action since February 8. His return is unclear as he will miss the team's upcoming five-game road trip starting Thursday in Las Vegas. Interim coach Joe Sacco confirmed that McAvoy will not travel with the team. He suffered a serious shoulder injury and an infection while playing for Team USA in a recent tournament. This forced him to spend three nights in the hospital. McAvoy was released just before Team USA lost to Canada in the championship game. There have been reports that the Bruins are unhappy with the medical care McAvoy received while with Team USA. General manager Don Sweeney avoided discussing the issue directly last month but expressed gratitude for the care McAvoy is receiving now. Currently, McAvoy's status is still week-to-week, and there is no set timeline for when he might return to the ice.
