ChatGPT to integrate with Slack and Google Drive
OpenAI is planning to test new features that will allow ChatGPT to integrate with Google Drive and Slack. This development aims to make office tasks more efficient. The new feature, called "ChatGPT Connectors," will help users access internal company information. This means employees can search for files in Google Drive or messages in Slack using ChatGPT's powerful search capabilities. OpenAI intends to introduce additional connectors for other services like Microsoft SharePoint and Box in the future. According to a report, the system will respect permissions, ensuring users can only access documents or messages they are authorized to see. Information that is not directly accessed by ChatGPT can also be found by clicking a sources button in responses. However, there are some limitations. Certain file types, such as Google Slides and PowerPoint, cannot be supported. While Sheets and Excel files can be read, they cannot be analyzed in depth. Additionally, ChatGPT will not retrieve direct messages or group conversations from Slack, focusing primarily on channel messages. The connectors will use an encrypted connection to protect sensitive data. Initially, these features will be tested by select users in the ChatGPT Team subscription plan, allowing everyone in that workspace to benefit from the integration.
