Chattanooga upsets No. 1 seed Dayton in NIT

The 2025 NIT tournament continued with surprising results as the second round began on Saturday. Chattanooga shocked top-seeded Dayton with a decisive 87-72 win. Chattanooga’s Honor Huff led all scorers with 26 points, while Trey Bonham added 25 points to help secure the upset. In another matchup, No. 3 seed Bradley defeated No. 2 seed George Mason 75-67. Corey Thomas was essential for Bradley, scoring 21 points in the victory. Bradley will now face Chattanooga in the quarterfinals at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. On Sunday, six more games are scheduled, including a key clash between No. 1 seed SMU and No. 4 seed Oklahoma State. The winner will meet either No. 2 seed North Texas or No. 3 seed Arkansas State. Additionally, No. 2 seed Stanford will play Kent State, with that winner set to face either No. 1 seed San Francisco or Loyola Chicago in the next round. The tournament's upcoming key dates include quarterfinals on March 25-26, semifinals on April 1, and the championship on April 3. All games are set to be played at the higher-seeded team's home arena until the semifinals.
