Chef James Trees opens Bar Boheme in downtown Vegas
Chef James Trees is set to open his new French restaurant, Bar Boheme, in downtown Las Vegas next month. Known for his successful restaurant, Esther’s Kitchen, Trees aims to bring modern twists to classic French dishes in a stylish setting. The highlights of Bar Boheme include crispy Kennebec fries, which are carefully prepared using several techniques to create a crunchy exterior and soft interior. Trees emphasizes the importance of detail in his cooking. “When people don’t care about the details, you can tell,” he said. Despite being associated with Italian cuisine through Esther’s, Trees has a strong background in French cooking. He has trained at renowned establishments like Café Boulud and Le Bernardin. His experience shapes the menu at Bar Boheme. The restaurant will serve a variety of dishes, including Parisian-style baguettes, croquettes made from salt cod, and a rich French onion soup. Each dish aims to elevate classic recipes by adding thoughtful touches. The ambiance of Bar Boheme is designed to feel inviting and sophisticated. The space features plush seating, white tablecloths, and vibrant artwork. The restaurant can accommodate about 120 indoor diners and 40 outside on a terrace. The wine list will include only French selections, focusing on popular regions like Burgundy and Bordeaux. The goal is to make French wines approachable for everyone. Chef Trees also plans to serve a classic hamburger alongside his gourmet fries, ensuring that the menu appeals to a wide range of tastes. He wants Bar Boheme to offer an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience.
