Chelsea coach criticizes Pride Park pitch quality
Chelsea Women's head coach Sonia Bompastor criticized the quality of the pitch at Pride Park after her team won the Women's League Cup final against Manchester City. She stated that such standards would likely not be accepted in men's football. Bompastor and City's interim coach Nick Cushing both expressed disappointment with the pitch conditions. Cushing noted that he hopes for better quality at their home stadium, Joie Stadium. The Women's League Cup final is held at various venues, unlike the men's final, which takes place annually at Wembley. Last year's women's final was at Molineux Stadium.
