Chelsea Freeman advocates outdoor safety for active kids
Chelsea Freeman, the wife of MLB star Freddie Freeman, shared her experiences as a busy mother of three boys in an interview. She talked about balancing family life with personal care while keeping her kids active. Freeman starts her mornings early, preparing breakfast and spending time with her children—Charlie, Brandon, and Maximus—before they head to school. After they leave, she focuses on her own routine, which includes a workout at a fitness class, followed by handling emails and creating content for her sponsorships. Outdoor activities are important for the Freeman family. They use OFF! insect repellent to protect themselves from bugs while playing outside. Chelsea emphasized the significance of this, given her own family's history with Lyme disease, as her mother was diagnosed after a tick bite. Her son Max was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome last year, a rare illness affecting the nerves. Chelsea highlighted the importance of being an advocate for her child during hospital visits. Despite the challenges, she enjoys the lively chaos of raising three boys, who are best friends and love playing together. To ensure she stays healthy and energetic, Freeman prioritizes self-care by scheduling her workouts like appointments. She practices Pilates and barre five days a week, which she believes boosts her energy for the day. Chelsea is passionate about encouraging outdoor play among kids and expressed concern that many children prefer screen time to being active. The current baseball season means more risks from bugs, and she remains dedicated to ensuring her children stay safe while enjoying the outdoors.
