The initial group of 125 contestants was narrowed down to 30 semifinalists. This year marks the first time Egypt and Macau have reached the semifinals. Manalo impressed with her national costume and evening gown during the preliminary events, showcasing her cultural heritage and style. The Miss Universe crown, named "Lumière de l’Infini," is being made in the Philippines for the first time. The reigning titleholder, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, will crown her successor at the event's conclusion.
