Cheltenham Festival anticipates 380,000 pints of Guinness
At the Cheltenham Festival, racegoers are expected to drink nearly 380,000 pints of Guinness, a 43% increase from last year’s 265,000 pints. Sales of the stout are projected to reach close to £3 million. The price of a pint has risen by 30p to £7.80. The surge in Guinness consumption is partly driven by the social media trend "splitting the G," where drinkers pause their sip at the letter's midpoint. The festival runs from March 11 to March 14, with over 65,000 attendees expected daily. In addition to Guinness, around 120,000 pints of lager and 10,700 mini bottles of champagne will also be consumed.
