Cheltenham Festival expects record Guinness consumption this year
Racegoers at the Cheltenham Festival are expected to drink about 380,000 pints of Guinness this year, a 43% increase from 265,000 pints in 2024. This surge is linked to a viral social media trend and will generate nearly £3 million in sales. The price of a pint has risen to £7.80, and around 3,500 pints of non-alcoholic Guinness will also be available. The festival will feature extensive food stalls and upgraded facilities, enhancing the overall experience for the expected 280,000 attendees. Concerns about potential Guinness shortages have been raised, but suppliers are reportedly ensuring adequate supplies for the event. The festival begins on March 11, with Gold Cup Day on March 14.
