Chennai hosts civil service orientation for aspirants
An orientation program for civil service aspirants was held in Chennai on Wednesday. The R.M.K. Group of Institutions teamed up with Shankar IAS Academy and The Hindu for the event titled “Become a Bureaucrat.” The session aimed to inspire students to consider careers in Indian bureaucracy. It also offered valuable insights from experienced professionals in the field. Retired IPS officer Sathish Kumar Dogra shared advice on how to succeed as a civil servant. He emphasized seven important qualities: vision, faith, hard work, discipline, perseverance, planning, and focused success. Poo.Ko. Saravanan, a Deputy Commissioner of Customs, shared his own journey from being an engineering graduate to a civil servant. S. Sangeetha, a Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts, spoke about how passing the UPSC exams can lead to high-level job opportunities early in a career.
