Chennai hosts Indian Air Force air show after 21 years attracting over 1.5 million spectators
Chennai hosted the Indian Air Force (IAF) air show on October 6, 2024, after a 21-year gap, attracting over 1.5 million spectators. The event celebrated the 92nd Indian Air Force Day with a display of 72 aircraft, including fighter jets and helicopters. The air show featured various formations, starting with Chetak helicopters and including aircraft like Rafale, Sukhoi 30 MKI, and MiG 29. The event was attended by Tamil Nadu officials and entered the Limca Book of Records for its large audience. Previously held in Delhi, the air show has been moved to different cities in recent years, with Chandigarh hosting in 2022 and Prayagraj in 2023. Despite the heat, most attendees enjoyed the long-awaited aerial display.
