Chennai police arrest two, seize 102kg of ganja
Police in Chennai have made a significant drug bust, seizing 102kg of ganja and arresting two men. The operation took place near Anakaputhur on Thursday. The police also confiscated a Honda City car and two mobile phones from the suspects. The men arrested are Paraman, 45, from Madurai, and Daniel Raja, 34, from Usilampatti. They were caught on Maduravoyal Bypass Road. Police report that Paraman has been involved in ganja smuggling since 2019 and has a history of arrests, including one in Andhra Pradesh. Paraman has connections with ganja dealers in Narsipatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has been previously charged with various crimes, including theft and assault. Daniel has a prior case related to drug offenses. The two men worked together to smuggle ganja from Andhra Pradesh into Tamil Nadu. They used a car with hidden compartments to transport the illegal drugs. Paraman speaks fluent Telugu due to his business dealings in Andhra Pradesh. The police received a tip-off from an informant, which led to the arrests after several days of surveillance. The suspects are now facing charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
