Chennai siblings excel in table tennis competitions

Abhinandh and Ananya Muralidharan are siblings from Chennai who are rising stars in table tennis. Both are ranked among the best players in their age categories. Abhinandh is number one in Under-17 and number two in Under-19 in India. Ananya holds the top spot in the state for Under-15 and Under-17 and is ranked second in the country for Under-15. The brother-sister duo often helps each other improve their skills. Abhinandh values Ananya's advice during his matches, while he shares his insights during her games. Ananya is in class IX at Sankara Senior Secondary School, and Abhinandh is in class XII studying through open schooling. Recently, Ananya represented India in the WTT Youth Contender events in Berlin and the Czech Republic. She won a bronze medal in the Czech event after strong performances against Asian players. Abhinandh also excelled by winning gold in the boys' Under-17 category and finishing as runner-up in Under-19 at the same competitions. Both siblings train at the Chennai Achievers TT Academy under coach Subin Kumar, who they credit for their successes. They are determined to reach new heights in their sport. Abhinandh aims to be India's number one male player and hopes to win a medal in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Ananya wants to compete well in her first year at the women’s national level. With the support of their parents, Muralidharan and Shanthi, Abhinandh and Ananya are dedicated to their sports careers and continue to inspire each other.
