Chennai student robbed after giving two men a lift

A college student in Chennai was attacked and robbed after giving a lift to two men late on Sunday night. The 20-year-old, named Selvakumar, is a second-year BSc computer science student and also works as a food delivery agent. Around 10:30 PM, Selvakumar had just finished a delivery when he was approached by the two men near a school in Kovilambakkam. They asked for a ride, which he agreed to. After traveling about one kilometer, the men indicated they wanted to get off. When Selvakumar slowed down, one of the men attacked him with a knife. The attacker hit Selvakumar on the head and pushed him to the ground. They then stole his mobile phone and escaped on his motorcycle. Nearby passersby saw the incident and reported it to the police, who took Selvakumar to a private hospital for treatment. Police have started an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to find the attackers. The incident highlights concerns about safety for students and the dangers of offering rides to strangers.
