Chennai's Chetpet eco park plans major upgrades with new attractions
Chennai's Chetpet eco park is set for a major upgrade, with plans for new amenities like bird-view decks, electric buggies, and musical fountains. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority and the fisheries department aim to attract more visitors to the 16-acre park. Inaugurated in February 2017, the park currently sees only 20,000 visitors monthly. The CMDA has allocated 15 crore for renovations, which will include improvements to existing facilities and the addition of new attractions like water sports and live performances. Renovations will start at the entrance and include repairs to the musical fountain and upgrades to the aquarium and children's play area. The park's restaurant, closed during the pandemic, will reopen this week.
