Chevron partners with Engine No. 1 and GE Vernova to power U.S. data centers with natural gas

Chevron is partnering with Engine No. 1 and GE Vernova to provide natural gas power solutions for U.S. data centers. This collaboration aims to support the growing energy demands of artificial intelligence technology. Chevron's natural gas production has increased significantly, reaching nearly 2.7 billion cubic feet per day in late 2023. The company plans to develop multigigawatt-scale power plants next to data centers, initially delivering up to four gigawatts of power. The new power plants will use GE Vernova turbines and focus on reducing carbon footprints. This initiative aims to provide reliable, low-cost energy for data centers while potentially integrating renewable energy solutions in the future.
