Chick-fil-A expands food donation and composting efforts across North America
Chick-fil-A is expanding its environmental efforts by composting and donating excess food. Over 130 restaurants in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico are involved in composting programs, diverting food waste from landfills. In Phoenix, 12 restaurants partner with Recycled City to compost food scraps, creating fertile soil for local farms. This initiative helps reduce food waste significantly in the area. Chick-fil-A Canada has all 14 Toronto restaurants participating in the Shared Table Program, donating surplus food to local charities. The company also joined the U.S. Food Waste Pact, aiming to cut food waste by 50% by 2030.
