Chido Obi joins Manchester United's first team roster
Chido Obi, a young player for Manchester United, has recently joined the first team and has a promising future. The 17-year-old striker has impressed coaches with his performances in training. Denmark’s Under-21 coach, Steffen Højer, spoke about Obi after communicating with staff at Manchester United. Højer noted that Obi shows great determination in training and has made strong contributions in matches, although he has not yet scored his first senior goal. Recently, Obi played against Fulham and was later included in the squad for games against Arsenal and Leicester, helping the team secure a 3-0 victory against Leicester. United will now take a break due to the international schedule and return to play on April 1. Højer shared that United's coaches are happy with Obi's progress. He highlighted Obi’s physical strength and finishing skills as key attributes. Despite United facing challenges this season, they are confident in giving game time to a young player like Obi. Obi signed his professional contract with Manchester United on his 17th birthday in November, after joining from Arsenal. He has also represented Denmark at youth levels and is eligible to play for Nigeria.
