Children's book celebrates Joey Ramone's punk rock legacy
A new children's book will tell the story of Joey Ramone, the famous punk rock musician. The book is titled "Gabba Gabba We Accept You: The Wondrous Tale of Joey Ramone." It shows how a misfit kid grew up to become a punk rock hero. The book features 51 pages filled with colorful illustrations and teaches kids important lessons about being unique and following their own path. Authors Jay Ruttenberg and Lucinda Schreiber aim to inspire children who may feel different. It will be released on June 27 through Drag City Records. People can pre-order the book now. Ruttenberg explained that he wanted to share lessons he learned through punk culture, which he found valuable while teaching his daughter. In other news, there is a legal battle over a planned Netflix documentary about Joey Ramone. His brother, Mickey Leigh, is involved in disputes over the project. Earlier this month, it was announced that musicians Thurston Moore and Napalm Death will cover Ramones songs for a tribute album to be released in early June.
