China conducts first public test flight of WZ-9 "Divine Eagle" drone
China has conducted a test flight of its new WZ-9 drone, also known as the "Divine Eagle." This marks the first public appearance of the drone, which is believed to serve as an Airborne Early Warning aircraft. The WZ-9 features a unique twin-boom design and is equipped with a jet engine on top of its main wing. It is intended to detect low-visibility targets, including stealth aircraft, although details about its sensors and operational capabilities remain unclear. This development follows the recent unveiling of two advanced Chinese fighter jets, including a potential sixth-generation model. China's military is increasingly focusing on developing its own technology, moving away from reliance on foreign designs.
