China investigates Pudong party chief Zhu Zhisong for corruption

Zhu Zhisong, the party chief of Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, is under investigation for suspected corruption. This marks the first time a Pudong party chief has faced such scrutiny since the area was established in 1992. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced the investigation, citing "serious violations of discipline and law." Zhu, 55, is a veteran in the aerospace sector. Zhu's last public appearance was on November 25, when he inspected local villages. He recently spoke at the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, promoting economic reforms in Pudong.
