China plans giant moon telescope to study early universe
Chinese scientists have proposed building a giant telescope on the far side of the moon. This telescope aims to help understand the early universe. The project would use advanced technology and is planned to be part of the China-led International Lunar Research Station, expected to be completed by 2035. The telescope will include 7,200 special wire antennas shaped like butterflies. These antennas will be able to pick up cosmic signals that cannot pass through Earth's atmosphere. This is important for studying the universe from before the first stars formed. The researchers noted that creating this array will be very complex. It will involve many elements, such as scientific instruments, relay satellites, robots, and communication networks. They believe the project will encourage innovation in various fields and will enhance China’s role in space exploration and astronomy.
