China surpasses Germany in industrial robot usage, report shows

China has surpassed Germany in industrial robot usage, according to a report from the International Federation of Robotics. China now has 470 robots per 10,000 workers, more than double its 2019 figure, while Germany has 429. South Korea leads globally with 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees, followed by Singapore. Germany's growth rate in robot density has been 5% annually since 2018, but it faces increasing competition from China. Germany's economy is expected to contract for a second consecutive year in 2024, marking it as the weakest performer among the G7 nations.
