China's J-35 fighter jet technology leak impacts Pakistan's defense
China's air force faces a serious crisis after confidential technology related to its FC-31 stealth fighter jet, also known as the J-35, was leaked. Reports indicate that a Chinese engineer, Liu, leaked the aircraft's technology to a foreign intelligence agency. Chinese authorities confirmed the breach through the Ministry of State Security (MSS). As punishment for his actions, Liu has been sentenced to death. The MSS stated that his activities were a significant threat to national security. Liu was a former assistant engineer at a Chinese defense technology research institute. Sources say he leaked the information because he was unhappy over not receiving a promotion. After leaving his job, he joined an investment firm and engaged in illegal activities, ultimately selling the fighter jet's secrets for money. The FC-31 is key to China’s growing military strength. It is designed to evade radar detection and is a vital asset in air combat. The leak is particularly damaging for Pakistan, the first country to order the J-35. This incident could weaken Pakistan's defense capabilities and alter the military balance in the region. India stands to benefit from the leaked information. There are concerns that with access to this technology, India's Air Force could develop strategies to counter the J-35 effectively. As it stands, the fighter jet has not yet been integrated into the Pakistani Air Force, adding to the complications of the situation.
