China's naval task group encircles Australia, monitored by navy
A Chinese naval task group recently completed a month-long circumnavigation of Australia, monitored closely by the Australian Navy. This operation involved over 12,000 nautical miles and included war games that disrupted airline flights. The task group, consisting of a destroyer, frigate, and replenishment ship, began its journey in early February near the Philippines. It traveled clockwise around Australia, testing combat readiness and conducting long-term operations. Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles confirmed that the military closely tracked the Chinese vessels. The Chinese Defense Ministry stated that their operations were in accordance with international law. The current status of the task group is unclear, with its last known position in the Sunda Strait.
