Chinese citizen arrested for flying drone over US military base in California

A Chinese citizen, Yinpiao Zhou, was arrested for allegedly flying a drone over Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and taking photos. He was apprehended at San Francisco International Airport before boarding a flight to China. Zhou, 39, faces charges for failing to register the drone and violating national defense airspace. The drone was detected on November 30, flying for nearly an hour and reaching an altitude of almost one mile. Authorities found the drone hidden in Zhou's jacket and discovered photos of the base on it. Zhou had previously searched for drone rules related to the base and discussed modifying his drone to fly higher. He could face up to four years in prison.
