Chirag Paswan criticizes JUH's boycott of iftar event
Union minister Chirag Paswan spoke out against the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind's decision to boycott an iftar party hosted by his party, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). He made his comments in Patna as he prepared for the event scheduled for Monday. Paswan expressed respect for JUH leader Arshad Madani but urged him to reconsider the impact of political rivals on minority interests. Earlier on Saturday, Madani announced the boycott on social media. He criticized several political leaders, including Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, for not addressing issues faced by the Muslim community. Madani claimed their mixed messages on the Waqf Bill showed a lack of true commitment to support Muslims. Chirag Paswan recalled the past efforts of his late father, Ram Vilas Paswan, to ensure Muslim representation in Bihar politics. He noted that during a political crisis in 2005, his father prioritized supporting a Muslim candidate for Chief Minister over joining any coalition. This historical reference highlights the ongoing significance of minority representation in Bihar's political landscape.
