Christian Tuipulotu banned from celebrating after tries
St George Illawarra Dragons player Christian Tuipulotu has been told to stop his celebratory gestures on the field. The winger is known for his lively celebrations after scoring tries. However, coach Shane Flanagan has banned him from performing these so-called "money gesturing" moves as the Dragons have not won a game so far this season. Flanagan wants Tuipulotu to focus more on his gameplay. He emphasized that the enthusiasm should be directed towards the team rather than entertaining the fans. He stated, "It is not required and the energy needs to be put back into other parts of his footy." Tuipulotu made headlines when he scored three tries in the first round against the Bulldogs. His celebration caught commentators off guard, especially since his team was losing at the time. Michael Ennis pointed out the unusual choice of celebration when trailing by 18 points. In other news, the Dragons have gained additional salary cap space. Prop Francis Molo has agreed to pay back part of his salary to leave the club. Molo has been released from the last year and a half of his contract after a dispute with the coaching staff. He is expected to join the Dolphins and is believed to be receiving a large termination fee. Molo was under contract for about $550,000 per year for 2025 and 2026.
