Chuck Myers reaches 100th win as Pitt-Greensburg coach

Pitt-Greensburg softball coach Chuck Myers celebrated a milestone victory when his team defeated Chatham in their doubleheader. This win marked Myers' 100th career victory. The Bobcats won both games 6-2, achieving their first sweep of the season. In the opener, senior Melanie Mienke and junior Autumn Powell combined for seven strikeouts, with Powell earning the win in relief. Hunter Taylor contributed significantly with a three-run triple. In the second game, multiple players, including Powell and two freshmen, had two hits each. In men's swimming, Saint Vincent junior Jacob Dzurica earned All-American honors in the 50-yard freestyle at the NCAA Division III Championships. He finished eighth in the race with a time of 20.08 seconds and set a school record during the prelims. Saint Vincent's women’s bowling team claimed their first AMCC championship after defeating William Smith College in the final series. They will compete in the national tournament next month. In baseball, various players from local teams are making impressive contributions. Pitt-Greensburg junior James Domer broke the program record for doubles and was named AMCC Baseball Athlete of the Week. Seton Hill's Jakob Haynes celebrated a dominant performance with three home runs in a recent series. Softball players from several local colleges are also excelling. Emma Little from Bloomsburg earned PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors for her outstanding performance. Freshman Bailey Snowberger at Maine hit her first college home run, showcasing her developing skills. In men’s basketball, Westmoreland County Community College freshman Lorenzo Gardner was recognized as an All-NJCAA Region 20 Division II honorable mention for leading his team in scoring. Lastly, in men's lacrosse, Seton Hill secured a massive win against Wheeling, improving to 6-1 overall. Junior Wade Brunelle scored five goals in the match, demonstrating strong leadership and skill on the field.
