Cinemas warn fans to avoid singing during Wicked screenings after surprise opening reveal
Cinemas are warning fans of the new film Wicked to refrain from singing during screenings this weekend. AMC has released a video reminding audiences that talking, texting, and singing are prohibited, although singalong screenings will start on Christmas Day. The film's opening surprised many viewers, as it revealed that this adaptation is only "Part 1" of the story. The title appears in a style reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz, but the marketing did not indicate that the film is split into two parts. Wicked: Part 1 runs for 2 hours and 40 minutes, longer than the original stage musical. The sequel, Wicked: Part 2, is scheduled for release on November 21, 2025.
