City Tales - Medieval Era enters Early Access May 22

City Tales - Medieval Era will be available in Early Access on Steam starting May 22. This new city-building game allows players to create a medieval kingdom from humble beginnings. It features a bright color palette and offers a relaxing yet engaging gameplay experience. In City Tales, players start with simple camps and can expand them into larger, thriving communities. Unlike other games in the genre, it does not use grid systems, allowing players to design cities in a more freeform manner. Understanding the needs of villagers is crucial. Some may seek taverns, while others might prefer churches. Players will also have companions who can help manage different areas of the city. As the realm grows, these companions will develop and take on more responsibilities. The game is being developed by Irregular Shapes, a small team eager to build a community around their game. They plan to spend about a year in Early Access to incorporate player feedback into development. The developers aim to introduce a "Marvels" system that will add challenging building options, as well as a storyline for each of the 14 companions planned for launch. Additional features like new resources and production lines will also be included. City Tales - Medieval Era will be available on PC through Steam in May.
