Clark school celebrates Read Across America with guest readers
Hehnly Elementary School in Clark recently took part in Read Across America Day. The event featured special guest readers who shared their favorite books with students. Principal Shirley Bergin expressed excitement about the celebration. She noted that both students and staff enjoyed the visits from guest readers. The Clark Board of Education, the Clark Police Department, and district administrators participated in reading sessions for various grade levels. Additionally, members of the Kumpf Middle School National Honor Society read to students in kindergarten through second grade. Many young students enjoyed hearing Dr. Seuss books, especially read by older students who previously attended Hehnly School. Read Across America is an annual event organized by the National Education Association. It aims to encourage reading among children and is celebrated on March 2, which is Dr. Seuss's birthday.
