Clashes in Islamabad end with PTI leaders retreating after three days of protests
ISLAMABAD: Clashes between security forces and PTI protesters in the capital ended with a retreat by PTI leaders early Wednesday. Six people, including a policeman, died over three days of protests, with many others injured. The PTI leadership, including Bushra Bibi and Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, left the protest site after urging supporters to disperse. Their container was later set on fire. Security forces cleared Jinnah Avenue and made numerous arrests during the crackdown. The government accused PTI of planning an attack on parliament. A police constable died from injuries sustained during the protests, leading to charges against PTI leaders, including founder Imran Khan.
