Classes suspended in Rizal province as Typhoon Nika impacts region

Classes in Rizal province were suspended on November 11 due to severe weather from Typhoon Nika, also known as Toraji. The governor encouraged schools to use alternative learning methods like modular and online formats. As of early Monday, Typhoon Nika was located about 100 kilometers east-southeast of Casiguran, Aurora, with maximum winds of 120 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 150 kilometers per hour. Rizal, along with Laguna and Quezon provinces, is under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1. Laguna and Quezon have also suspended classes for all levels in areas affected by the storm.
