Cleanup efforts begin in southern U.S. after deadly tornadoes and storms
Cleanup efforts are ongoing in the southern U.S. after a storm system caused tornadoes, hail, and high winds over the weekend, resulting in at least four deaths. More than 30 tornadoes have been confirmed from Texas to South Carolina. The storms first impacted the Houston area, where two EF3 tornadoes caused significant damage, destroying homes and uprooting trees. In Mississippi, two fatalities were reported, including an 18-year-old girl, while a 70-year-old man died in North Carolina when a tree fell on his truck. High winds also affected western Pennsylvania, causing power outages for about 60,000 customers. Wind speeds exceeded 60 miles per hour, leading to downed trees and utility poles across the region.
