Cleanup efforts begin in southern U.S. after deadly tornadoes and storms
Cleanup efforts are ongoing in the southern U.S. after a severe storm system caused tornadoes, hail, and high winds over the weekend. At least four people died, and over 30 tornadoes have been confirmed from Texas to South Carolina. The storms began in Texas, where six tornadoes were confirmed, including two rated EF3 with winds up to 140 mph. Significant damage occurred in Montgomery County, with about 50 homes severely affected. In Mississippi, two fatalities were reported, including an 18-year-old killed by a falling tree. North Carolina and Alabama also experienced storm-related deaths and damage, while high winds caused power outages in Pennsylvania, affecting around 13,000 customers by Monday afternoon.
