Clemson finalizing six-year deal for coach Brownell
Clemson University is close to finalizing a new six-year contract for head coach Brad Brownell. The deal will extend his time with the team until 2031. Approval from the university's board is still needed, but sources say it should be completed soon. This season, Clemson achieved a record of 27 wins and 6 losses. They performed well in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), finishing with 18 wins and only 2 losses during the regular season. The Tigers made it to the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament but lost to Louisville in the semifinals. Currently, Clemson is ranked No. 10 nationally and has earned a 5-seed in this year's NCAA Tournament. They will play against 12-seed McNeese on Thursday in Providence, Rhode Island. Brownell has been with Clemson for 15 seasons and is the program's all-time winningest coach, with 292 victories. Last year, he signed a five-year deal worth $20 million after leading the team to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament.
