Cleveland Heights City Administrator Dan Horrigan has resigned after just three months in the position. His resignation was confirmed by Mayor Kahlil Seren on March 17. The mayor did not provide details about why Horrigan left. Council President Tony Cuda noted that Horrigan's departure marks the third resignation of a city administrator in as many years. Horrigan's appointment was confirmed in early January after the previous city administrator, Danny Williams, announced his retirement in September. Horrigan was hired after Council heard from 42 applicants but chose to interview only him. He was known as the city's chief operating officer, earning a salary of $150,000 a year. Cuda mentioned that Horrigan is the 12th department director or administrator to resign in the past three years. Before joining Cleveland Heights, Horrigan had a long career in public service. He first ran for a seat on Akron City Council in 1999 and later served as mayor of Akron. He decided not to seek re-election as mayor in 2023. The city plans to release a statement regarding Horrigan's resignation, according to Interim Communications Director Jessica Schantz.
