Cleveland worship director arrested for sex crimes
A worship leader at a Catholic church in Parma Heights has been arrested on charges of sex crimes involving children. The accused, 59-year-old Andres Andino from Cleveland, was indicted by a grand jury in February and pleaded not guilty in court. Andino is facing serious charges, including rape, two counts of sexual battery, and two counts of unlawful sex with a minor. These allegations date back to 2010. He previously worked at St. John Bosco Catholic Church and served at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Avon Lake. Authorities arrested Andino on Sunday, and he posted a $50,000 bond on Thursday. He is scheduled to appear in court again next Wednesday. The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland expressed shock at the news of Andino's arrest and has suspended him from his duties at both churches. In a statement, they said they hope the legal process will uncover the truth and ensure justice is served.
