CNY Jazz honors Syracuse songwriter Jimmy Van Heusen

CNY Jazz will honor legendary songwriter Jimmy Van Heusen with a cabaret performance on April 27 at the Sherwood Inn in Skaneateles. The event will feature vocalists Cheri Giraud and Scott Dennis, accompanied by the Dan Pugh Trio. Van Heusen, a Syracuse native, co-wrote many famous songs, including "Come Fly With Me" and "High Hopes." He received four Oscars and was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. The Babcock family, related to Van Heusen, has contributed a new photo display for the event. Seating is limited to 100, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the 5 p.m. show.
