Coach praises Rwanda's cleanliness and hospitality after win
Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle has praised Rwanda for its cleanliness and hospitality. He described Rwanda as the cleanest country in Africa, even saying it is cleaner than France. Chelle made these comments after leading Nigeria to a 2-0 victory over Rwanda in a World Cup qualifying match. This win marked his first as the Super Eagles coach. The victory came thanks to two goals from Galatasaray star Victor Osimhen. Nigeria's win is crucial for their hopes to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. The team is currently fourth in their group with six points, having scored six and conceded five goals. Chelle expressed his desire to return to Rwanda after the World Cup qualifiers, highlighting the warm welcome the team received. He mentioned his surprise at Rwanda’s cleanliness based on his experiences living in France. Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong also praised Rwanda, calling the stadium the best he has seen in Africa. He commended the country's facilities and the friendliness of its people. Troost-Ekong urged other African nations to follow Rwanda’s example in sports and hospitality. Chelle acknowledged that despite the win, the team needs to improve. He noted that they had only practiced together for a short time before the match. The NFF (Nigerian Football Federation) has assured support for the Super Eagles as they continue their World Cup qualifying campaign.
