Coconut water isn't suitable for everyone, say experts
Coconut water is popular for hydration, especially in summer, but experts advise caution for certain individuals. Those with kidney problems should limit intake due to high potassium levels, which can be dangerous. People on blood pressure medications may experience dangerously low blood pressure if they consume coconut water. Diabetics should also monitor their intake, as it contains natural sugars that can affect blood sugar levels. Additionally, individuals with cystic fibrosis, allergies, or irritable bowel syndrome should be cautious. Athletes may need higher sodium drinks after intense workouts, as coconut water may not provide sufficient electrolytes.
