Coimbatore promotes UTS app with video challenge

thehindu.com

Coimbatore Junction railway station has launched a new initiative called the "one-minute video challenge." This campaign aims to encourage more people to use the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) mobile app. Currently, only 6.5 percent of passengers use the app. The UTS app helps passengers avoid long lines by allowing them to book unreserved tickets digitally. However, many people are still unaware of its features. The app offers different payment options, such as UPI, debit and credit cards, e-wallets, and net banking. It is free to download for both Android and iOS users. The competition is organized in partnership with J. Engineering and Click GO, an event management company. Participants can register for the challenge until March 31. Videos will be shared over the next month. There are two prizes available: one for creativity and content, and another based on Instagram likes. J. Sathish, a former member of the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee, noted that the UTS app is especially useful for passengers traveling on unreserved trains for short and long distances.
