Coimbatore's multimedia course sees 500 induction attendees
The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC) has launched a free one-month multimedia course, attracting significant interest. On March 20, 2025, about 500 people attended the induction sessions at the City Knowledge and Study Centre. Participants include individuals from diverse backgrounds. For instance, G. Maheswari, a 54-year-old woman from Palladam, wants to learn video editing and graphics to better promote her design and stitching business. Another applicant, aged 30 and with education up to Class X, aims to enhance her salon’s digital marketing skills. The course coordinators noted a diverse age range among applicants, with a 62-year-old woman being the oldest registrant. S. Siva Ragavi, a course coordinator, shared that they received over 800 registrations and more than 1,500 inquiries. Due to the high number of applicants, classes will be arranged in groups of 60. The induction sessions are designed to inform attendees about the course structure and to understand their goals. Classes will run daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The course aims to help participants gain skills for jobs in multimedia, marketing, and content creation.
