Coleman Wong wins historic match for Hong Kong

The Hong Kong player won the match in three sets, finishing with scores of 7-6, 2-6, and 7-6. After the victory, Wong dedicated the win to his home city, saying, “this is for you Hong Kong.” Wong is ranked 128th in the world and has been a wild card entry in the tournament. He struggled at times but held strong to secure the victory. He even led at one point in the final set, 5-2, before Shelton made a comeback. His victory caught the attention of tennis legend Rafael Nadal. Nadal expressed his pride in Wong's accomplishment on social media, calling it a "historic win for Hong Kong." He praised Wong's hard work and determination, stating, “There is a lot of effort behind these victories.” Wong has trained at Nadal's academy in Spain for three years.
