Colleen Hoover addresses financial concerns amid adaptation controversy
Author Colleen Hoover has raised eyebrows with her recent Instagram posts after a break from social media. The writer of the popular novel "It Ends With Us" returned to her account and addressed her financial situation amid an ongoing legal dispute involving the film's stars, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. In a series of videos, Hoover discussed her use of Diet Pepsi ice cubes while humorously hinting at her finances. She stated, "This may be either a new rock bottom for me or the best thing that’s ever come out of my brain," while showing off her ice cubes made from Diet Pepsi. However, she quickly realized the drink didn't taste any different from regular Diet Pepsi. Hoover later shared that she had drastically reduced her merchandise prices to $10 each, saying that her "boss" made the change. She expressed worry about going "broke" by the end of the day and joked about her situation. After receiving some backlash, fellow author Amy Harmon defended her, highlighting Hoover's humorous personality. In response to the criticism, Hoover posted a story that seemed to poke fun at those concerned about her earlier comments. Meanwhile, the legal battle between Lively and Baldoni continues to unfold. Lively has moved to dismiss Baldoni’s lawsuit, claiming it is an abuse of the legal process. Lively had previously accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, which he denies. The trial is set to take place in March 2026.
