Colombian gang stole millions from U.S. jewelry dealers

A gang of Colombian migrants stole millions in jewelry across several U.S. states from September 2019 to August 2021. They targeted traveling jewelry salespeople and stores, with their largest theft in February 2020, taking $2.6 million in Florida. Mark Simon, a jewelry dealer in New York, allegedly bought the stolen goods, paying significantly less than their value. He was arrested and charged with conspiracy to launder money but pleaded not guilty and was released on bond. The gang's activities included high-profile robberies, such as the theft from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's home. It remains unclear if any of the thieves have been arrested or deported.
