Colorado Congress voted on security and employment measures
During the week of March 7-13, 2025, Colorado members of Congress voted on several key measures. The House passed the Subterranean Border Defense Act and the Emerging Innovative Border Technologies Act, both aimed at enhancing border security. All Colorado representatives, except Rep. Lauren Boebert, supported these bills. The House also approved the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Enforcement Act, extending the statute of limitations for fraud cases to 10 years. Colorado representatives split their votes, with Reps. Diana DeGette, Joe Neguse, and Brittany Pettersen opposing the measure. In the Senate, several nominations were confirmed, including Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Labor Secretary and Stephen Miran as chair of the White House’s Council of Economic Advisers. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper opposed these nominations.
