Columbia Law School received threatening antisemitic email
Columbia University law school received a threatening antisemitic email this week. The email called for “death” to Judaism, Zionism, and Israel. A security guard at the school reported the email to police on Wednesday. The email was sent to multiple administrative offices at Columbia. The guard stated that the message contained hate-filled language, saying "Antisemitism is 100% free speech. Jews are sickness." Authorities are investigating but have not made any arrests. This incident follows a series of anti-Israel protests at the university over the past year. Tensions rose recently after the arrest of former student Mahmoud Khalil, a protest leader. Khalil, currently in an immigration detention center, referred to himself as a “political prisoner” and called for more protests in a letter. Last week, protesters vandalized Columbia's president's historic home, covering it with red paint and the phrase “Free Them All.” The situation at Columbia remains tense as the community deals with these recent events.
