Columbia protester arrested for immigration violations

Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian from the West Bank, was arrested by Homeland Security for immigration violations related to her participation in anti-Israel protests at Columbia University. Kordia had previously been arrested in April 2024 for overstaying her twice-canceled student visa. She first entered the U.S. in 2016 on a tourism visa and later obtained a student visa, which was terminated due to lack of attendance.
